Glenorchy Air
Glenorchy Air is a family business run by Janet and Robert Rutherford. Robert grew up in the area and knows it very well. His ancestors arrived here from Scotland in the 1860s to mine for gold.
Glenorchy Air was started in 1992, so we are in our 16th year of operation. We are uniquely placed to share our knowledge and love of the area with our guests. We have the flexibility to fit in with your requirements, so long as safety is not compromised.
We specialise in providing the highest standard of personal, friendly service to clients who travel in groups of no more than seven per aircraft. The pilots we employ have a love of this area and are skilled at flying in the mountains. All our aircraft are fitted with individual head sets so the clients are able to hear the pilots informative commentary.
The kea is our registered Trade Mark. This New Zealand parrot is the only alpine parrot in the world.
